UChicago Sailors wrapped up a busy fall season with two appearances at national championships. Max Zhalilo ’26 represented UChicago and the Midwestern Collegiate Sailing Association at the College Sailing Singlehanded National Championship in St. Petersburg, Florida. Competing for the Glen S. Foster trophy, Max battled warm temps and high waves over two busy days of sailing. Way to go, Max!

One week later, UChicago again represented the Midwest, this time at the Match Race National Championship from November 15-17 in Long Island. Eliot Hack ’28, James Leavitt ’26, Anya Zakharov ’25, and Max Zhalilo ’26 took on nine match racing teams from across the United States.

This season, we were proud to again compete at the highest levels of college sailing while maintaining a welcoming club that shared our love of sailing with the wider UChicago community. Great work, sailors!
