Congratulations to our UChicago Sailors, who took first at Northwestern University’s annual Rebecca “Becky” Blank Regatta this weekend in Evanston!

Our sailors faced chilly temperatures, brisk winds, and stiff competition, but emerged victorious after two tough days of racing! With waves over 5 feet on the first day, racing was unfortunately cancelled as it was unsafe to launch boats from Northwestern’s beach.

On day two of the regatta, our sailors faced stiff competition with little margin for error. Racing began early with winds from the northwest, After beating back spirited final challenges from Notre Dame and Purdue, UChicago defeated 12 other collegiate teams to take gold.
