On September 25, UChicago Sailing held our first practice of the Fall 2023 season at the Jackson Park Yacht Club.

Amid an extensive recruitment campaign, we were thrilled to welcome a record breaking turnout of sailors to our first practice — from first-timers to experienced skippers! Our first practice featured a mix of activities geared towards sailors of all backgrounds, including lessons in rigging a 420, points of sail, and plenty of actual sailing, too!

We are proud to welcome all members of the UChicago community to join our team — including undergrads, grad students, post docs, and faculty. No prior sailing experience necessary!
